Calgary’s May 23rd Talent ID Dates

Where: Calgary
Bow Bottom Baseball Diamonds

When: June 1st
·Boys 16-18yrs Registration 2:30pm; Camp from 3:00-6:00pm
·Boys 13-15yrs Registration 6:00pm; Camp from 6:30-9:30pm
·Girls 11-13yrs Registration 6:00pm; Camp from 6:30-9:30pm

Why: To represent your zone at the Alberta Summer Games
August 7th-10th in Medicine Hat

Directions: Turn North into Clive and continue across railroad tracks- baseball diamond will be on RH side

What happens if I don’t attend at least one Talent ID Camp?

You will not have the opportunity to play for the 2008 Alberta Summer Games Zone 4 Baseball team.
If you have attended another Talent ID camp from the AABC in the spring of 2008 you are not required to attend this camp.
Calgary Talent ID dates released...

The AABC has announced that the Talent ID scheduled in Calgary has been rescheduled to:

Friday May 23rd at Deerfoot Stadium
16 - 18 years old boys
Registration at 5:00pm, camp at 5:30pm


Sunday, June 1st at Bow Bottom
11-13 yr old girls & 13-15 yr old boys
Registration at 5:00pm, camp at 5:30pm
Lethbridge Talent ID dates released...

The AABC has announced that the Talent ID scheduled in Lethbridge has been rescheduled to:

Monday May 19th

Pee Wee Girls / Bantam Boys 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Boys 16-18 years old 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Strathmore Talent ID dates confirmed

Strathmore Talent ID New schedule is as follows:
May 20th
5:00pm Registration
5:30pm Camp begins

Medicine Hat Talent ID rescheduled dates

Wednesday, May 7th Athletic Park 16 to 18 year old boys – born in ’90, ’91, & ‘92 Registration 5:00 pm – session begins on field 5:30pm
Boys 16 to 18 who have a baseball conflict with this date are to attend Thursdays session. Boys 13 to 15 who have a baseball conflict on Thursday are to attend this (Wed) session. Thursday, May 8th Athletic Park 13 to 15 year old boys – born in ’93, ’94, & ‘95 Girls 11 to 15 Born in ’92, ’93, ’94, ’95, ’96, & ’97 – This session only! Registration 5:00pm – Session begins on field 5:30pm
Boys 13 to 15 who have a baseball conflict with this date are to attend Wednesdays session. Boys 16 to 18 who missed Wednesday due to baseball conflict are to attend this (Thurs) session.
Strathmore and Calgary Talent ID's postponed

Talent ID camps scheduled in Strathmore and Calgary for April 26th and 27th have been postponed due to weather. Please continue to check the website for updated information on new dates for the Talent ID camps.
Lethbridge Talent ID Postponed! -April 20, 2008

The AABC has announced that the Talent ID scheduled in Lethbridge has been postponed due to weather implications. Please check back to the website frequently for more updates on the situation. The Talent ID will be rescheduled sometime next week.

Calling All Coaches - 2008

CALLING ALL COACHES

The Alberta Amateur Baseball Council has several High Performance Coaching opportunities available for the 2008 baseball season. Please submit your resume stating the number and program that you would like to be involved in.

1. Alberta Summer Games (#2008-01):
Gender: Male
Age: 13 – 15 years of age
Date: August 7th – 10th
Location: Medicine Hat

Require three coaches from each zone and one manager
Each zone will host three camps in which the athletes must attend two camps.
Head Coach must be certified full Level 1 Theory,Technical, Practical and Level 2 Technical.
Assistant coaches must be certified complete Level 1.

2. Alberta Summer Games (#2008-02):
Gender: Female
Ages: 11 – 13 years of age
Date: August 7th – 10th
Location: Medicine Hat
Require three coaches and one manager from each zone of which one coach, manager or chaperone must be female.
Head Coach must be certified full Level 1 Theory, Technical and Practical
and Level 2 Technical. Assistant coaches must be certified complete Level 1.

3. Alberta 16 and under Tournament (#2008-03):
Ages: 16 and Under
Date: August 22nd , 23rd and 24th
Location: Communities are invited to apply to the AABC to host.
Teams that participate in this tournament are selected by club team coaches that are allowed to select from associations across the province. Athletes are selected for the Prospects series which is held on the Labour Day weekend.

  4. Canada Cup (#2008-04)
Ages: 17 and under
Dates: August 10th – 18th
Location: Medicine Hat
The Canada Cup Staff requires three coaches and one manager.
Coaches must commit to six of the nine identification camps, as well as the following dates:
Lethbridge Elks Tournament – June 12th - 15th
July 29th - 30th team camp
Canada Cup Tournament – August 10th – 18th
All coaches will have complete Level 3 certification.

5. Canada Games Year 3 (#2008-05)
Ages: 18 and under
Dates: June 20th, 21st & 22nd
July 25th, 26th & 27th
Location: Alberta
Three coaches are required for both weekends.
All coaches will have complete Level 3 certification.

6. Prospects Series (#2008-06)
Ages: 15 & 16 year olds
Dates: August 28th – September 1st
Location: Kindersley, Saskatchewan
Four coaches are required for each team.
One coach will be selected from the Alberta Summer Games and one coach will be selected from the Under 16 tournament to participate in the Prospects Series.



  APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications are to include:
• Why you want to coach at the High Performance level
• Coaching experience
• Highest level of NCCP accreditation and number
• Three references (include baseball, work, community sources)

Deadline for all coaching positions is Friday March 7, 2008 – 2:00 PM.
